About reusable content
In Berkeley Web Builder, you can mark widgets as "reusable" to easily share and maintain content across your site.
Saving a widget as reusable adds it to the "Reusable content" category on the widget selection screen. Any future updates made to a reusable widget will automatically update every page where that widget appears.
Important notes
Keep the following considerations in mind before using reusable content:
- Permanent setting: Once you save a widget as reusable, this setting cannot be undone. Always verify your selection before saving.
- No revision tracking: Reusable widgets do not track individual revision histories. Do not mark a widget as reusable if you need to restore earlier versions.
- Edits to reusable widgets will not appear in the revision history of pages containing them.
- Reverting a page to a previous revision will not restore previous states of embedded reusable widgets.
Creating reusable content
When creating or editing a widget, locate the “Reusable” checkbox at the bottom of the configuration window. See Figure 1, below, to see the option on a Promo block widget edit screen, along with a warning that the choice is permanent once saved.
Checking the "Reusable" box reveals an "Admin title" field. Enter an internal name to help you locate this widget when placing it on other pages. Figure 2 shows a Promo block widget with an admin title configured.
Select the Save button on the widget after enabling the setting and providing an admin title. In the page customization view, reusable widgets feature a blue vertical-left border labeled "Reusable" alongside their admin title. Remember to save the entire page to publish your layout changes. Using and managing reusable content
After creating at least one reusable widget, a "Reusable content" category will appear in the widget selection menu when adding content to any page. See Figure 4, below.
Select the "Add" button for the reusable widget you wish to add to a page. A prompt at the top of the configuration window will remind you that edits apply globally wherever the widget is used:
This widget is reusable! Any changes made will be applied globally.

Select the "Save" button to insert the widget (making any necessary edits beforehand), then save the page to finalize your changes.
