Berkeley Web Builder is now available for new websites after the initial beta and early adopter periods. Visit the Request page to request a new Berkeley Web Builder starter site.

Open Berkeley migration status: The Web Platform Services team is working on the technical and process requirements for migrating Open Berkeley sites to the new Berkeley Web Builder platform and will communicate more details at a later date.

Estimated timeline (subject to change)

• July 2025: Berkeley Web Builder site launch
• Fall 2025: Limited beta group rollout
• Winter 2025 to Summer 2026: Early adopter rollout for new sites
• Fall 2026: General availability for new sites and initial migrations

Beta and early adopter rollout

• Online guides/documentation on how to use the new platform will be added to the website and training materials will be provided to early adopters.
• Early adopters may rebuild existing Open Berkeley sites or build new sites.
• Open Berkeley campus teams who wish to migrate may begin to prepare for future migration.
• Web Platform Services will continue to determine the programmatic migration processes.

Programmatic site migrations begin after beta and early adoption phases

• Campus teams should complete any pre-migration tasks.
• Additional training sessions will be provided.
• Web Platform Services will finalize migration processes.
• Initial site migrations will begin.
