The Berkeley Web Builder platform comes with two built-in, generic content types (Basic and Custom pages), as well as specific content types (News, FAQ, Person, Department, Portfolio, Publication) that are used with the platform's additional features, which are optional and available upon request via your Site Manager.

The below information provides an overview of the available content types and how they should be used on the platform when creating and featuring content.

The Features page on the dashboard contains a grid of available features on the Berkeley Web Builder platform and whether each feature is enabled on your site. These features allow you to create specific content along with the generic Basic and Custom page types.

Each feature card on the Features page contains the name and description of the feature, the status of the feature (enabled or not enabled), a link to the feature's settings if available, a button for creating feature content if enabled, and a link to each feature's help page.

The Maintenance section of the Site Manager/Site Builder dashboard contains specific options for typical site maintenance tasks in Berkeley Web Builder as well as the "flush caches" button, which allows you to clear your website's temporary data if necessary. The Berkeley Web Builder "Hero" feature allows you to display text in the page title area of a Custom page with either a full-width image or background color or as a color band. Hero images can also be displayed without text.

A Hero or color band can only be used on Custom pages and can be added and configured from within the "Edit" tab of a Custom page. See Figure 1, below, of the Berkeley Web Builder homepage for an example of a Hero image on a Custom page.
