Add images
This page provides notes and instructions on how to upload and display images from the WYSIWYG editing toolbar, primarily on Basic pages and other options with the full toolbar, such as text widgets and other page widgets.
Images added from the WYSIWYG can be aligned along with other page content and can display a caption. See Figure 1, below, for an example of an embedded image with a caption on a Basic page.

The Berkeley Web Builder WYSIWYG (which stands for "What You See Is What You Get") editing toolbar is available across various content types and features, including the "Body" field of Basic pages and News and FAQ items, Text widgets on Custom pages, and more.

Content types
The Berkeley Web Builder platform comes with two built-in, generic content types (Basic and Custom pages), as well as specific content types (News, FAQ, Person, Department, Portfolio, Publication) that are used with the platform's additional features, which are optional and available upon request via your Site Manager. The below information provides an overview of the available content types and how they should be used on the platform when creating and featuring content.

Add content
Content is added to Berkeley Web Builder sites via content types (pages) and page widgets. Any user account with a role can work with content within the scope of that role's permissions (see Permissions by role). All content should follow best practices for content accessibility and the guidelines provided by the Digital Accessibility Program.

User accounts and roles
Anyone working on a Berkeley Web Builder site will need to have a user account with a role in order to log in (via CalNet/ cas) and access the site and platform tools. The platform comes with 5 user roles with different levels of permissions: Site Manager, Site Builder, Editor, Contributor, and Member. Only the Site Manager role can modify user roles on user accounts.
